Happy Friday!

Wowza, what a busy busy week! I'm ready to plop in my lawn chair with a Mike's Strawberry and not move for awhile... I guess, I'll wait until later to do that! Rain or no rain, that's my plan!

It's fun to get to dress Miss. B in some different outfits, however, too bad, the wind has to be so terrible nasty out... she's managed to scrape both of her knees up again... I guess it's better than the face!

Love this outfit... the shorts have matching tulips and frogs sewed on!

Cemetery

We took our flowers and trinkets out to the cemetery last night... I asked Brooklyn if she was ready to go home, she said no. Then I said, should we take Scott home with us. She said, yes. I told her that we couldn't as he lived with Jesus now. So, how do you describe to a 1 1/2 year old death? What a hard subject! Oh, something I guess we get to figure out in this hard life! We did leave the little owl and pink bird along with our flowers... pretty sure he will know who they were from!

Camper!

We had another great time at the camper this weekend! If every weekend is going to be like this one, I CAN'T WAIT! Saturday night, we had supper with some friends and then pretty soon, everyone started to stop over.... the kids were happy playing with water, games, running around, etc...  Here's a few pictures from the weekend... (Good thing I packed lots of clothes for Miss. B.... we had lots of outfit changes from the rain, playing in the mud/water!)

Flannel Board story

I spent a good chunk of Saturday afternoon working on a flannel board story for an flannel board exchange I was part of. Last time I did Rainbow Fish and it took way way too long, so I did an easier one this time... One of my all time favorite books, The Crayon Box That Talked.  Now, I just need to pick up some additional green fabric paint for the grass and crayon boxes and finish the suns and I can send them off!

Here's a recipe that can be made quick and easy and they are oh so yummy! They are called Can't Leave Them Alone Bars and you will know why once you try them...

Ingredients

• 1 package white cake mix (regular size)
• 2 eggs
• 1/3 cup canola oil
• 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
• 1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
• 1/4 cup butter, cubed

Directions

• In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs and oil. Press two-thirds
• of the mixture into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Set remaining
• cake mixture aside.
• In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk, chocolate chips and
• butter. Microwave, uncovered, until chips and butter are melted;
• stir until smooth. Pour over crust.
• Drop teaspoonfuls of remaining cake mixture over top. Bake at
• 350° for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool before
• cutting. Yield: 3 dozen.

Bike

Here's B's new bike.... Not too bad for Mommy putting it together, although I think Daddy will need to make a few adjustments!

Adam's Graduation

Yesterday, we traveled to Alex for Adam's graduation from college... I was expecting it to be long, but it wasn't too bad, about 1 1/2 hours. Brooklyn did pretty well sitting, despite it was HOT and we were all packed in. Boy, did she ever run when we got outside!

Last night, we got to do a little bit of planting! I don't think Brooklyn would last too long out there by herself at this age, maybe by fall she will have more interest to sit and watch, but now, she thought she should try out all the levers and buttons and what not.... something that doesn't work too well in the tractor when they all run different things such as the planter, chemicals, auto-steer, etc...

Definitely a very excited girl to see Daddy after him planting 2 days!

We even did a little shopping to finish her summer wardrobe... I think this outfit is going to be my favorite! Bright yellow shorts with hot pink flamingos and flamingos on the shirt with high heels and a purse!

What a great weekend we had at the camper... the first official camping trip of 2013 is over! Hoping for MANY MANY MORE weekends like this one... even, despite the the cold and rainy weekend, we still had a blast!
